Mr. Leon N. L. Chan, senior and managing partner.

Mr. Leon Chan joined Chan & Ho in 1975 and was articled to his uncle, Mr. Y. T. Chan. He continued his articles under his uncle when Y. T Chan & Co. was founded. He became an associate of Y. T. Chan & Co. in 1980 and a partner in 1982. In 1983, he took over and began his practice as a sole proprietor.

Mr. Leon Chan is currently appointed by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR as one of the Panel Chairman of the Appeal Tribunal Panel on appeals against a decision of the Building Authority. He is also non-executive director of three (3) listed companies in Hong Kong engaged in financial and real estate business in Hong Kong, Mainland China and South East Asia and is a non-executive director of an insurance company having a leading role in the taxi and mini-bus insurance business in Hong Kong.

Mr. Leon Chan was the ex-chairman of the internal audit committee of a local bank from 1996 to 2001 and is currently the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of a bank in Macau. Mr. Leon Chan was a member of the Solicitor's Disciplinary Tribunal appointed by the Chief Justice from 1993 to 2008.

Mr. Leon Chan oversees the operation of the whole firm and also acts as Head of the Conveyancing and Commercial Departments of Y. T. Chan & Co..

 

 

Miss Abiltali L. K. Wong, partner

Miss Wong graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1996 with a LLB and a PCLL. Miss Wong was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 1998.

Miss Wong is in charge of the Litigation Department of our firm and works in civil litigation including bank claims like mortgage hire purchase and other loan enforcements and injunctive relief, debt collection for money lenders and other financial institutions, commercial disputes, infringement of intellectual property rights, construction disputes, personal injuries claims and professional negligence claims, landlord and tenant disputes and matrimonial and children disputes.

Miss Wong is also a Civil Celebrant of Marriages.

 

 

Miss Phoebe O.S. Ng, partner.

Miss Ng born in Hong Kong in 1970 and is married. She graduated from University of Tasmania, Australia with a LLB and University of Technology, Sydney with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She was admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 1997. She is also qualified in New South Wales, Australia.

Miss Ng worked as a Paralegal in Messrs. K. C. Tsang & Co. from 1995 to 1997. She joined Messrs. Ng & Shum as an associate in 1997. In March 2000, she joined Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co. as an associate. In April 2003, she joined Messrs. Anthony Chiang & Partners as an associate. Miss Ng joined Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co. as an associate again in April 2004 and became a partner on 4th March 2008.

Miss Ng handles conveyancing, civil litigation works including debt collection, matrimonial and landlord and tenant and probate cases.

Miss Ng is also a Civil Celebrant of Marriages.

 

 

Mr. Mak Chin Fung Kenley, partner

Mr. Kenley Mak was born in Hong Kong in 1980.  He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 2003 with a LLB and PCLL.  Upon attainment of the PCLL, Mr. Mak started his two-years traineeship with Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co..  In September 2005, Mr. Mak was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong SAR.

Mr. Mak served as an associate in Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co. upon admission as a solicitor of High Court of HKSAR in 2005. Actively involved in the Commercial Department since his days as a trainee solicitor, Mr. Mak is devoted in general commercial matters including transfer of shares, sale of asset and general company and corporate matters. He also handles criminal and probate cases. He became a partner on 1st October 2010.

 


Miss Anita M. L. Chan, consultant.

Miss Anita Chan graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1983 with a LLB and PCLL.  She also holds a LLM degree from the City University of Hong Kong and another LLM degree from the Renmin University, Beijing, PRC.  She was admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 1985 and was appointed a Notary Public in 1996.  She is also qualified in England and Wales, the Australian Capital Territory in Australia and Singapore.

Following her admission, Miss Anita Chan had worked for Messrs. Tsang, Chan & Co. from 1985 to 1986; Messrs. K. M. Lai & Li from 1986 to 1989 and Messrs. Edmond H. C. Wong & Co. from 1989 to 1991 as an assistant solicitor.  In 1991, she joined Messrs. Deacons as an associate.  Then in 1993, she joined Messrs. Tong & Tsoi as an assistant solicitor.  In 1997, she joined Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co. as a consultant.

Miss Anita Chan engages in litigation, probate and matrimonial matters and is the supervisor of the Personal Injury and Insurance Claims Section of the Litigation Department.

Miss Anita Chan is also a Civil Celebrant of Marriages.

 

Mr. Arthur K. F. Lui, consultant.

Mr. Arthur Lui was born in Hong Kong in 1966. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1990 with a LLB and PCLL. He also holds a LLM degree from the City University of Hong Kong . He was admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 1992.

Mr. Arthur Lui served his articles with Messrs. Wong, Hui & Co. from 1991 to 1992. Following his admission, he worked for Messrs. Albert Leung & Co. for one year. In 1993, he joined Messrs. Szeto & Yeung and became a partner of that firm in 1996. Mr. Arthur Lui joined Y.T. Chan & Co in 2003.

Mr. Arthur Lui handles conveyancing; civil litigation works including debt collection, matrimonial, landlord and tenant, bankruptcy; intellectual property and probate cases. Mr. Lui is also a Civil Celebrant of Marriages.

 

Mr. Eddie K.N. Tang, consultant.

Mr. Eddie Tang was born in Hong Kong in 1957. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science. He obtained his LLB (external) from the University of London in 1990.

Mr. Tang had served the Labour Department of Hong Kong Government as Labour Officer from 1979 to 1989 where he was responsible for labour relations and employment matters. Mr. Tang served his articles with Philip K.H. Wong & Co. and Vincent T.K. Cheung, Yap & Co. Upon admission as a solicitor of High Court of Hong Kong in 1991, he joined Yuen Sung & Co. as an associate and became a partner in 1993. In July 2002, he joined J. Chan, Yip, So & Partners as a consultant and in January 2005, he joined Y. T. Chan & Co. as a consultant. He is also qualified in England and Wales.

Mr. Tang handles conveyancing, probate, personal injury, debt collection, commercial disputes, tenancies, criminal, matrimonial cases and trade mark registration. Mr. Tang is also a Civil Celebrant of Marriages.

 

Mr. Lo Kwing Yu, consultant.

K. Y. Lo was first admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales in 1994 and then Solicitor of Hong Kong in 1995.

Mr. Lo served his articles and started his practice with Messrs. Bennett Metcalfe in England.  He has been in practice in Hong Kong since 1995 and was an associate with Messrs. Woo and Woo, Messrs. Yen Yu & Kong and Messrs. Clarke & Kong between 1995 and 2002.  He joined Messrs. W. K. To & Co. as a senior associate in 2002 and became a partner in 2006.  After he left Messrs. W. K. To & Co., Mr. Lo joined Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co. in November 2010. 

Mr. Lo practises in commercial law and his experience includes handling matters relating to acquisitions, financing, syndication loans, private equity fund, convertible securities, employment and intellectual property rights.

Mr. Lo works in commercial litigation matters relating to banking, company, commercial contracts, international trade, shareholding agreements, SFC enquiries, disciplinary and related proceedings before various tribunals.  Mr. Lo also has experience in personal injuries, judicial review, property practice and cross border claims in various jurisdictions (Taiwan, Singapore, China, British Virgin Islands, England and United States included).

Mr. Lo is also a Civil Celebrant of Marriages.


Miss Daisy S.T. Yip, associate.

Miss Daisy Yip graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1992 with a LLB degree and obtained PCLL in 1993. She was admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong in 1995. She is also qualified in England and Wales in 1997.

Miss Yip served her traineeship in Messrs. Lau Chan & Ko from 1993 to 1995 and became an associate in mid-1995. She then worked for Messrs. K. F. Wong & Co. since January 1998. In August 1998, she joined Messrs. Ng and Partners and worked therefor more than seven years before joining Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co. in January 2006.

Miss Yip mainly handles conveyancing and tenancy related matters. She also handles probate and matrimonial cases.

 

Mr. Hong Kam Yu Tommy, associate

Mr. Hong obtained his LL.B. from University of London (External) in 2003 and his PCLL at City University of Hong Kong in 2005. He served his traineeship at Messrs. Philip K. H. Wong, Kennedy Y. H. Wong & Co. and Messrs. Leung & Lau, Solicitors from 2005 to 2007. Upon admission as a solicitor of High Court of HKSAR in 2007, he joined Messrs. W. H. Chik & Co. as an assistant solicitor.

Mr. Hong joined this firm in June 2008 and his practice is mainly on personal injury and civil litigation.

 

Mr. Chan Yee Herman, associate.

Mr. Herman Chan acquired his professional qualifications in 2005 (LL.B. in the London University (External Program) and PCLL in the City University of Hong Kong).

Mr. Chan joined Y. T. CHAN & Co as a trainee solicitor in August 2009. He was admitted as a solicitor in the High Court of Hong Kong on 7th May 2011 and continues to serve as an associate in Messrs. Y. T. Chan & Co. upon admission. Prior to that, Mr. Chan worked in the Hong Kong Police Force for over 36 years and attained the rank of Superintendent.

Mr. Chan handles Criminal Litigation, Company, Civil and Probates cases.
